1 tablespoon oil
½ yellow onion, diced
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 pound ground beef
14 ounce can crushed tomatoes
2 tablespoons tomato paste
2 tablespoons Java Rub
1 teaspoon cumin
8 hot dogs
8 hot dog buns
8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté for about 5 minutes or until translucent.
Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute more.
Add ground beef and sauté until cooked through; breaking up with a wooden spoon as it cooks.
Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, Java Rub, and cumin until combined. Cover, and simmer for 20 minutes. Stir occasionally.
Preheat oven to 375°F. Place hot dogs in buns and place on a sheet pan. Top each with prepared chili and shredded cheese.
Bake for 10 minutes or until hot dogs are heated through and cheese is melted.
